Nomada mutica is a bee from the family of Apidae .
features
The bees have a body length of 10 to 12 millimeters (females) or 9 to 11 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and yellow. The tergites are black and have broad, yellow bands. The imperforate labrum is yellow. The whisker of the antennae is red, at the top it is slightly darkened. The third antennae is shorter than the fourth. The scutellum has broad yellow spots and is slightly humped. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have long, thin, small thorns. The males are similar to the females, their third antennae is much shorter than the fourth. The label has a yellow spot, which is narrowly divided in some animals. The ventral side of the body is covered with woolly hair.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in southern and central Europe. The animals fly from late April to early July. They parasitize Andrena ferox .
