Nomada opaca is a bee from the family of Apidae .
features
The bees are 7 to 9 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and marked in red. The tergites are red, often partly dark brown and spotted yellow. The mandibles have an additional tooth at the end. The labrum is red and has a small tooth in the middle. The third antenna segment is significantly shorter than the fourth. The scutellum is heavily bumped and has two red spots. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have two or three thick, long, thorns. The males are similar to the females, but their faces are drawn in yellow. The rear rails have two to three thorns that are difficult to see in the hair.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is distributed in northern Italy, France, Central Europe and Sweden. The animals fly from early May to early June. They parasitize Andrena fulvida .
