Nomada panurgina is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees are 6 to 8 millimeters long. The head and thorax of the females are black and drawn in red. The tergites are red, sometimes dark brown. The labrum is red, has three teeth and is very narrow towards the front. The third antenna segment is significantly longer than the fourth. The scutellum and the mesonotum are unevenly structured like points, the former is red and sloping backwards. The rails ( tibiae ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have many dark, thick, short thorns that are close together. The males are similar to the females, their rear rails are densely hairy at the end and have inconspicuous small thorns.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed in southern Europe, France and the Aosta Valley . The animals fly in July and August. They parasitize Panurgus dentipes .
