Nomada rhenana is a bee from the family of Apidae . The females looksimilar to Nomada zonata .
features
The bees have a body length of 7 to 9 millimeters (females) or 7 to 8 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and drawn in red or yellow-red. The tergites are spotted red and partly yellow. The labrum is red or red-yellow and has a tooth. The roughly punctiform structured label ( scutellum ) is also red or red-yellow and has shiny point spaces with clear cusps. The splints ( tibia) the hind legs are blunt at the end and have three to four short, thick, small thorns. In the males, the head and thorax are black and yellow. The basal tergites, which are often black, are red and have large yellow spots. The labrum is yellow and has a tooth. The noticeably humped label has two yellow spots. The rails of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have about four short, thick thorns.
Occurrence and way of life
The species is common in southern and central Europe. The animals fly in two generations from late April to mid-August. They parasitize Andrena ovulata .
