Nomada trapeziformis is a bee from the family of Apidae .

features

The bees have a body length of 10 to 11 millimeters (females) or 9 to 11 millimeters (males). The head and thorax of the females are black and marked in red. The tergites are red, basal and black at the end edge, the second to fifth also have yellow spots. The labrum is red. The forehead keel is very high and drops steeply to the forehead at the top, which distinguishes the species from similar species. The third antenna segment is slightly shorter than the fourth at the bottom. All limbs are longer than wide. The scutellum is red. The rails ( tibia ) of the hind legs are blunt at the end and have several short, small thorns. In the male, the head is black and has yellow markings, the thorax is also black and has only faint yellow spots. The label is spotted red, the tergites are black, but have reddish spots in the middle and they are spotted yellow.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is common in southern Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. The animals fly in two generations from early April to mid-May and late July to early September. They probably parasitize Andrena barbareae and Andrena limata .
