Issei Nomura

Issei Nomura (Japanese: 野村 一 成; born May 20, 1940 in Nagoya ) is a Japanese diplomat .

Life

He studied law at Tokyo University . After graduating in 1963, he started working for the Japanese Foreign Ministry . He was first secretary in the Japanese Embassy in the United Kingdom from 1974 and in the Soviet Union from 1976 . This was followed by missions in Denmark and the USA . In 1991 he became a director of the Prime Minister's Peacekeeping Office. He then took on the role of Director General of the Office for European and Oceanic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In 1995 he became the Japanese ambassador to Malaysia . This was followed by a job as an ambassador for Okinawa affairs. Then from 2002 he was ambassador to Germany and later to Russia . From 2006 to 2010 he was grand master at the court of the Japanese crown prince and then special advisor at the imperial court.

Awards

Malaysia awarded him the Panglima Jasa Negara order in 2006 .
