Norbert Czempiel (born September 22, 1936 ) is a former German soccer player who played with BSG Motor Zwickau in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR soccer, in 1956 and 1957 .

Athletic career

For the 1956 season (calendar year game rhythm), the 19-year-old Norbert Czempiel was listed for the first time in the Oberliga lineup of the company sports association (BSG) Motor Zwickau. On the second match day of the league he was called up as a substitute for the first time, at the end of the season he was able to book 15 league appearances in 26 games played. However, he did not get beyond the status of a substitute player, as he had been in the starting line-up in only seven games. In the match on the 23rd match day Motor Zwickau - SC activist Brieske-Senftenberg , after being substituted in the 60th minute, he scored the opening goal four minutes later to later win 2-0. Czempiel's record for the 1957 season was even worse, because he was only used six times in the Oberliga. Only in his four games in the second half of the season, in which he was called up as a striker, he was there from the start. One more time he was able to distinguish himself as a goalscorer.

At the beginning of the 1958 season, Czempiel moved to the second-rate GDR league club BSG Stahl Stalinstadt . There he completed 19 of the 26 point games, scored five goals, but at the end of the season had to relegate the team to the 2nd GDR League . Only after two years did the Stalinstadters manage to return to the 1st GDR League. The team captain named Czempiel played in the GDR league season 1961/62, which ran over 39 rounds due to the change to the summer-spring rhythm, all the point game and also scored six goals. In the course of the season, the BSG had to change its name to Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt, analogous to the city name. In the 1962/63 season, 26 point games were played normally again, of which Czempiel played 18 games, in which he scored four goals this time.

In the summer of 1963, Czempiel left Eisenhüttenstadt and joined the BSG Wismut Gera , which also played in the GDR league. There his betting quota fell in the two seasons 1963/64 and 1964/65, in which he was called up only 18 and 14 times in 30 games each. Only in his first season in Gera did he score three goals. For the 1965/66 season he was deleted from the squad of the GDR league team and until 1971 only played with the second team in the third-rate district league . 1967 and 1968 he was with this team Gera district champion. As a trainer, Czempiel led Wismut Gera II in 1973 to the district championship.
