Norbert Dittmar

Norbert Dittmar (born March 4, 1943 in Bielefeld ) is a German linguist .

Life

After graduating from high school in Bielefeld in 1963, Dittmar studied German , Slavic and Philosophy at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg from 1965 to 1967 and 1969 , Romance studies and linguistics at the University of Aix-Marseille from 1967 to 1968, and Romance studies, linguistics and studies from 1969 to 1970 German studies at the Free University of Berlin and from 1970 to 1974 linguistics, Romance studies and philosophy at the University of Konstanz . He received his doctorate in 1974 from the University of Konstanz with a thesis on sociolinguistics. Exemplary and critical presentation of their theory, empiricism and application . In 1979 he completed his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin. In 1979 he became professor of linguistics there. Dittmar retired in 2008.

Research priorities

The research focuses on Dittmar are sociolinguistics , grammar , pragmatics of spoken language , second language acquisition and discourse analysis .
