Norbert Formanski

Norbert Formanski (born August 1, 1951 in Westerholt (Herten) ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the German Bundestag .

Life

Formanski attended elementary school and achieved his secondary school leaving certificate at evening school, then the technical college entrance qualification. He learned the profession of high voltage electrician and then completed his 15-month military service from 1972 to 1973. During his training and afterwards, he was a youth representative from 1967 to 1971. He worked as an electrical contractor and was also a trainer at the RAG hard coal mine in Lippe and had been an active member of the works council since 1978. Since 1984 he has been chairman of the works council and in 1994 he became a member of the general works council of Ruhrkohle Bergbau AG. Also since 1994 he was a member of the working group of the general works councils / works councils of the hard coal companies in the Ruhrkohle AG and since 1998 of the RAG Chemie. Formanski is married and has one son.

In 1966 Formanski joined the mining and energy union, and three years later the SPD. In 1976 he became a member of the SPD city council in Herten, from 1992 its deputy chairman. In 1980 he became a district board member of the trade union in Gelsenkirchen and local group chairman, in 1988 he joined the control committee. From 1979 to 1991 he was a member of the city council of Herten. In the federal elections in 1990 , 1994 and 1998 he was elected directly to the Bundestag in the constituency of Gelsenkirchen II - Recklinghausen III , most recently with 63.0% of the vote. In 2002 he left the Bundestag.
