Bundestag constituency Gelsenkirchen II - Recklinghausen III

The Bundestag constituency of Gelsenkirchen II - Recklinghausen III was a constituency in North Rhine-Westphalia from 1980 to 2002 . It included the Gelsenkirchen districts north and east and the town of Herten from the Recklinghausen district . The predecessor constituency from 1965 to 1980 was the constituency of Gelsenkirchen II .

The constituency was dissolved for the 2002 Bundestag election . Since then, the Gelsenkirchen districts north and east belong to the constituency of Gelsenkirchen and Herten to the constituency of Recklinghausen II . The constituency was always won by candidates from the SPD , most recently by Norbert Formanski .
