Norbert Hosten
Norbert Hosten (born July 14, 1957 in Düsseldorf ) is a German radiologist and professor at the University of Greifswald .
Career
Hosten studied at the Free University of Berlin , where he also received his doctorate in 1988 and then completed his habilitation . He was the senior physician at the Radiation and Polyclinic at the Rudolf Virchow Hospital in Berlin at the Free University of Berlin - later Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin , before becoming professor of diagnostic and interventional radiology at the University of Greifswald in 2001 and director of the "Institute for Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology ”of the University Medical Center Greifswald.
Research focus and commitment
Hosten's work focuses on magnetic resonance imaging , interventional radiology and telemedicine . In 2008 he took over the chairmanship of the association "Telemedicine in the Euroregion Pomerania", an association of experts that has set itself the goal of developing and expanding telemedicine in the Euroregion Pomerania . From June 2013 to May 2015 he served as President of the German Radiological Society for two years .
Awards
On October 29, 2015, he was honored in Szczecin with the biennial Pomerania Nostra Prize of the Universities of Greifswald and Stettin for his services to cross-border telemedicine in the Pomerania Euroregion .
In 2019 the Greifswald Medical Council awarded the Institute for Diagnostic Radiology and Neuroradiology the prize for the best teaching in a clinical-practical subject.
