Norbert Mueller
Norbert Edward "Stuffy" Mueller (born February 14, 1906 in Waterloo , Ontario , † July 6, 1956 in Toronto , Ontario) was a Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper . At the Olympic Winter Games in 1928 , he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.
Career
Norbert Mueller spent part of his career as an ice hockey goalkeeper with the Toronto Varsity Grads, with whom he won the Allan Cup , the Canadian amateur championship, in 1927 . The following year he represented Canada with the Varsity Grads at the Winter Olympics. After the tournament he played for several years in the senior championship of the Ontario Hockey Association for the amateur team Toronto National Sea Fleas, with which he also won the Allan Cup in 1932. After retiring from his career, he worked in the insurance industry. He died in 1956 of complications from a heart attack at the age of 50.
International
For Canada , Mueller took part in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz , where he and his team won the gold medal. In his only use in the course of the tournament, in the 14-0 win against Great Britain , he achieved a shutout . In 1933 he took part in the world championship with the national team and won the silver medal.
