Norbert Wiedmer

Norbert Wiedmer (* 1953 in Bern ) is a Swiss documentary filmmaker.

Life

Wiedmer studied in Paris and at the University of Television and Film in Munich , where he also worked as an assistant from 1980 to 1982. He has been a freelance writer, director and producer since 1982. In 1982 he founded the production company Biograph Film . In 2000 he was honored with the Film Prize of the Canton of Bern and the Swiss Film Prize in the category “Best Documentary” for his film Schlagen und Abtun . Together with Peter Guyer , he made the documentary Sounds and Silence (2009), which was also awarded the Bern Film Prize in 2009 and was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize 2010 .

Wiedmer is a member of the Swiss Film Academy.
