The Sélune is a river in France that runs in the Manche department in the Normandy region . It rises in the Normandy-Maine Regional Nature Park , in the municipality of Saint-Cyr-du-Bailleul . The Sélune generally drains in a westerly direction and flows into the English Channel after 85 kilometers northwest of Pontaubault , in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel . In the mudflat area , which is actually no longer counted as part of the river, it still unites with the river Sée and forms the Chenal des Fleuves Sée et Sélune , which can only be seen at low tide .
