from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Norbert Graf von Hohenwart (* in the 11th century; † January 26, 1087 or 1088) was Bishop of Chur and provost in Augsburg .

Norbert came from the von Hohenwart family from the Upper Bavarian Pfaffenwinkel . His father was probably Rapoto, his mother Hema von Hohenwart. Justinus Gewin recognizes Bernhard von Weilheim as his father and justifies this not least because of the brothers Gebini and Friedrich named first in the deed of foundation , whom he recognizes as brothers Norbert. In 1055 he became canon and in 1071 cathedral provost in Augsburg. As such, he had the St. Ulrich church built in Habach from 1071 to 1073 . It was followed by the construction and equipping of Regularkanonikerstifts Habach he to the 1085 Diocese of Augsburg handed. In 1079 Norbert was founded by King Henry IV. In the diocese of Chur as anti-bishop used. He remained in this position until his death in 1087 or 1088.
