The North Africa Middle East Initiative of German Business (abbr. NMI) serves to establish and expand bilateral business relationships with the countries of North Africa and the Middle East (MENA region). She belongs as well as z. For example, the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA) and the Eastern Committee of German Business on the regional initiatives that shape the content-related discussion on trade and investment in Germany in relation to the respective region.

The focus is on the coordination and communication of the interests of the supporting organizations to political decision-makers in Germany and in the partner countries. At the same time, the NMI is available to the Federal Government with its expertise as a point of contact for economic policy and foreign trade issues.

The NMI is coordinated by the BDI in the “International Markets” department. The German chambers of commerce abroad and delegate offices in the region are particularly part of the NMI network.
