The Norderland is a historical landscape , located on the northwestern edge of East Friesland directly on the Wadden Sea , which covers a wide area around the city of Norden . The Norderland borders in the east on the Harlingerland and in the south on the Brookmerland .

According to today's understanding, the Norderland comprises the municipalities of Norden, the Samtgemeinde Hage , Großheide and most of the municipality of Dornum . Occasionally the term Norderland is also used for the area of the former district of Norden , but historically this also includes parts of Bro (o) kmerland and Emsigerland .
