Nordstadt (Barmen)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Barmer Nordstadt is a district of the formerly independent municipality of Barmen , now part of Wuppertal , which is not exactly defined in its boundaries .

The area includes, among other things, the district of Sedansberg, which has been found in the statistical residential district of Sedansberg in the Barmen district from 1975 , i.e. the urban areas north of the center of Barmen.

The Nordstädter Bürgererverein, which is still known today as the Nordstädter Bürgererverein Barmen e. V. exists, was founded in 1893 by committed citizens. The purpose of the association when it was founded was to preserve the forest areas in northern Barmen, which then led to the creation of the northern park . After the city merger in 1929 to form the common city of Wuppertal, the use of the term Barmer "Nordstadt" was lost, as Elberfeld also had a district called Nordstadt , which from 1975 can be found in the statistical residential district of Nordstadt in the Elberfeld district .
