Norges Svømmeforbund (NSF for short, German  "Norway's Swimming Association" ) is the umbrella organization for swimming in Norway , based in the House of Sports ( Norwegian Idrettens Hus ) at the Ullevaal Stadium in Oslo . In addition to organizing competitions in swimming , diving , water polo and synchronized swimming , his tasks include training beginners and coaches as well as issuing swimming badges . The association, which is divided into 18 sub-districts, has around 50,000 active members in 252 clubs (as of 2009). It was founded around a hundred years ago on August 19, 1910 with Johan N. Blytt from the Bergens Svømme Club as its first president.

It is one of the sports federations of the sports federation Norges idrettsforbund og olympiske og paralympiske komité (NIF, German "Norway's Sports Association and Olympic and Paralympic Committee "). The Norwegian Swimming Federation is also a member of the international swimming federations NSF (Nordic countries), LEN (Europe) and FINA (World Swimming Federation).

The motto of the association is: "Every Norwegian a swimmer, every swimmer a lifesaver / lifeguard " (norw. Hver nordmann en svømmer, hver svømmer en livredder ). In order to honor the most outstanding Norwegian swimmer of the year, the Kongepokal (“King's Cup”) in swimming has been awarded for men since 1912 and since 1916 for women .
