Noriyuki Iwadare ( Japanese 岩 垂 徳 行 , Iwadare Noriyuki ; born April 28, 1964 in Matsumoto , Nagano Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese composer of video game music .

biography

Noriyuki Iwadare was born in Matsumoto and began his career as a video game composer after spending several years working for bands at universities. He received the Best Game Music Award twice in the category for Sega Mega Drive , for the music for the game Lunar: The Silver Star in 1991 and for the music for Grandia in 1997. In the Dreamcast category, he won the award that year 2000 for Grandia II .

He first composed the music for the Tokyo Disney Resort , as well as for Japanese dance, television and radio programs. He has always wanted an orchestral arrangement for his works, so he worked several times with the Gyakuten Meets Orchestra (for example for the Ace Attorney series).

He was also a special guest at the eleventh French Japan Expo , which was held in Paris in July 2010 .
