Norman Brownlee
Norman Edward Brownlee (born February 7, 1896 in Algiers , † April 9, 1967 in Pensacola ) was an American jazz musician (piano, saxophone, composition ).
Live and act
Brownlee led from 1920 to 1930 in New Orleans the Brownlee's Orchestra of New Orleans , the u. a. Alonzo Crumby , Behrman French , Hal Jordy , Sharkey Bonano and Tom Brown included . For a short time the trumpeter Emmett Hardy also played in his band. In January 1925 Brownlee's Orchestra (inter alia with Harry Shields and Johnny Wiggs ) recorded two compositions by Brownlees for Okeh , "Dirty Rag" and "Peculiar"; Hardy could no longer participate in this studio due to illness (he died of tuberculosis in June 1925 ). Nothing is known about Brownless' further life.
