Norman Froemel

Norman Froemel (born September 26, 1972 in Winnipeg , Canada ) is a former Canadian - German basketball player on the center position. The 2.13 meter tall Froemel played as a professional for seven years in the basketball league and was under contract with Bamberg , Braunschweig , Ulm and Gießen .

Career

Froemel grew up in Canada and has both Canadian and German citizenship. He played at the University of Winnipeg and came to Germany in 1995 following his college career. In the 1995/96 season he played for SG Braunschweig in the Bundesliga, from 1996 to 1999 he was in Bamberg's service, then returned to Braunschweig for the 1999/2000 season.

In the 2000/01 season he recorded the best mean values ​​of his Bundesliga career in 36 league games for Ulm with 8.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Following the 2001/02 season in which Froemel played for Avitos Giessen, he ended his professional career and went back to Canada. There he became a teacher and was temporarily active as a manager of the U17 basketball selection for the province of Manitoba .
