Norman Loose (born January 10, 1980 in Suhl ) is a former German soccer player who started a coaching career after his active career.

Career

Loose began his football career at Grün-Weiß Steinbach-Hallenberg before moving to the youth department of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . When the club got into financial difficulties in 1997, VfB Leipzig secured the services of the talented 17-year-old, who moved from Thuringia to Saxony together with the later national player Clemens Fritz . When the people of Leipzig got into financial difficulties themselves in 1999, Rot-Weiß Erfurt brought back its two home-grown crops.

In Erfurt, Loose immediately fought for a regular place. After playing in the regional league for four years, Loose moved to second division SpVgg Unterhaching in 2003 , where he was a regular player throughout his first year. In his second season in Unterhaching, however, he only made 13 appearances.

For the 2005/2006 season he moved to FC Erzgebirge Aue . 2006/07 he came to 22 league appearances in which he did not score a goal. After the 2007/2008 season he returned to Rot-Weiß Erfurt a second time. There he could not meet expectations and lost his place in central defense to Jens Möckel . At the beginning of the 2009/10 season, his contract in Erfurt was terminated by mutual agreement. After he could not find a new club, he joined his home club FSV Grün-Weiß Steinbach-Hallenberg on January 1, 2010 .

From the 2013/2014 season he and Christian Preusser looked after the A-Juniors of FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt in the Bundesliga. Under Walter Kogler he was co-trainer for the first team in Erfurt; after Christian Preusser succeeded him in March 2015, he took this position again.

Since head coach Christian Preusser was on leave on December 15, 2015 due to the team's poor performance, Norman Loose moved up as interim coach.
