Standard metal

Standard metal or standard metal is a gold alloy with a gold content of less than 8 carats , and below 333 / - thousandth parts. The remainder of the alloy consists of silver and copper . It is light yellow in color and is relatively soft.

Standard metal was used around 1900 for the inexpensive manufacture of garnet jewelry. Mainly bracelets and bracelets , but also necklaces , rings and other things were made from it.
