The 125 and 110 meter high towers were designed by the Dutch architecture firm OMA , founded by Rem Koolhaas . Due to their location, they are also known as the “gateway to Stockholm”.

The 125 meter high east tower “Innovations” (left in the picture opposite) was opened in November 2018, the 110 meter high west tower “Helix” is due to open at the end of 2020. The client is Oscar Engelbert from Oscar Properties in Stockholm.

Architectural features

The design by the architect in charge, Reinier de Graaf , is characterized by a modular system of precast concrete elements that combine in hundreds of box-like bay windows to form a facade. The terraces of the apartments are set back and protected. The total of 300 residential units have an area of 44 to 271 m². The use of the largest possible number of prefabricated parts enables construction work even at temperatures below 5 ° Celsius and reduces construction costs.

The buildings were awarded the International High-Rise Award in 2020 . The jury praised the timeless, pioneering architecture; the buildings contributed to a coherent urban structure.
