Norwich Rüße (born April 19, 1966 in Burgsteinfurt ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ) and an organic farmer . Since 2010 he has been a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

biography

Rüße grew up in Burgsteinfurt and attended the Arnoldinum high school there . After graduating from high school in 1986, he studied history and biology to become a teacher in Berlin . He then worked at the LWL Institute for Westphalian Regional History in Münster from 1994 to 1999 . As a sideline, he runs the farm that he took over from his parents and has been in the family for six generations in accordance with the guidelines of organic farming (cultivation association: Bioland ).

politics

Rüße has been a member of the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party since 1998 . Since 1997 he has been a competent citizen in the city council of Steinfurt and from 2004 to 2009 held a mandate in the city council, since 2004 also in the Steinfurt district council. From 2000 to 2010 Rüße was the district manager of the Greens in the Steinfurt district. In the state elections in 2010 and 2012 he was elected to the state parliament via the state list of his party , making him one of the members of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia in the 16th electoral term . He is the spokesman for nature, the environment, animal and consumer protection as well as agriculture for the parliamentary group of the Greens. In 2015 he was elected deputy group leader. Rüße is the chairman of his parliamentary group in the parliamentary committee of inquiry of the state parliament "Committee of inquiry II (hacker attack / staff unit)".

Private

Rüße is married and has two daughters. He lives on his own farm in Steinfurt .
