Nosomma is an originally monotypical genus of the ticks with the species N. monstrosum . The species N. keralensis described in 2007is not yet generally recognized. N. monstrosum is a three-host tick that mainlyattacks ungulates and occasionally humans. It occurs in India , more rarely in neighboring regions ( Sri Lanka , Indochina , Nepal ).
