Nossidium is a genus of beetles from the family of dwarf beetles (Ptiliidae) within the subfamily Ptiliinae . It occurs in Europe with two types, only the oval dwarf beetle ( Nossidium pilosellum ) is also widespread in Central Europe.

features

The beetles have an elliptical, parallel, densely and strongly punctured body. This is very thick and hairy for a relatively long time. The neck label has no Punktgrübchen, its sides are margins furrow-like. Its base is double-bayed. The wings form a common rounded tip.

Occurrence and way of life

The animals live on rotten wood and fungi that live on wood.
