Notis Marias

Epaminondas "Notis" Marias ( Greek Επαμεινώνδας "Νότης" Μαριάς , born April 5, 1957 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek social scientist and politician . He was elected to the European Parliament for the Anexartiti Ellines in 2014 and expelled from the party in January 2015. In Parliament he is a member of the European Conservatives and Reformists Group .

After graduating from the University of Athens with a degree in humanities and a Masters of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science , he received his PhD in Politics and Social Sciences from the Pantion University of Athens . Marias was a professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Crete in Rethymno .

Marias was a member of the Greek Parliament as a member of the Heraklion constituency from the May election 2012 until the end of 2014 .

Since 2014 he has been a member of the European Parliament in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs , in the Committee on Petitions , in the delegation for relations with the Mashrik countries and in the delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.

Marias founded the Ellada - O allos Dromos party in 2017 .
