NOYCE ™ is a Düsseldorf electro-pop band around singer Florian Valentin Schäfer.

Band history

The band was founded at the end of 1996. During this time the first songs "Panique", "The White Room" and "I bleed for you" were written. Originally, in 1997, the completion of the third long player of the previous band "Silence Gift" (founded in 1989) was planned. On the advice of the producer Olaf Wollschläger u. a. In Strict Confidence , however, the pieces were released as "Panique EP". At the beginning of 1999 they appeared at the first festivals. With the release of the album "The white room" (September 1999) NOYCE ™ accepted the invitation to act as support for the "Empires Tour" of the future pop band VNV Nation . In October 2000 the EP "White hypnotized noise" was released.

In September 2006, after a long break, the album "Coma" was released, which reached number 5 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC).

At the beginning of 2007 the song "Mensch" was released as a radio single and reached number 10 in the DAC, in May the EP "Our world in coma" was released, which reached number 7 in the DAC. Then the band played as support on the tour of Funker Vogt and in early 2008 as a "special guest" with the stylistically similar band Diary of Dreams .

At the beginning of 2009 Markus Poschmann joined the band as a member. He plays guitar and a singing saw at NoyceTM . In the middle of 2009 the drummer Thomas "Fleisch" Krupatz left the band.

In 2010 NOYCE ™ had an appearance at the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.

In July 2011 the album "Past: ique" was released, which reached number 1 in the DAC.

At the beginning of 2012, Jens Schilling joined the drums as a new member.

Others

The name Noyce came about when, at the beginning of the musical experiments, strings were alienated with distortion. This "noise" was the inspiration behind the name.

The video clip for "Year 03", which can be found on the DVD of the album "Limited Coma", was created by Mark-Steffen Göwecke. For this he received the Ulrich Schiegg Silver Film Prize in 2006 in the music video category.
