The Nozal Hill ( French Sommet Nozal ) is an icy and 610 m high hill on the Graham Coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises one mile north of Mount Shackleton , halfway between the Régnard Peaks and Blanchard Ridge .
Participants of the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot discovered him. Charcot named him after Jacques Louis Charles Nozal (1885–1932), a seaman on board the research vessel Pourquoi-Pas? on this expedition. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the French name into English in 1951.
