Nuno Ribeiro
Nuno Jorge Gaspar Ribeiro (born September 9, 1977 ) is a former Portuguese cyclist .
Nuno Ribeiro began his career in 2000 with the Portuguese cycling team Barbot-Torrie . In 2002 he was able to win the GP Abimota and the Circuito de Nafarros . He then moved to LA-Pecol . With a stage win in the Tour of Portugal , he was also able to win the overall standings. At the beginning of the 2005 season, he moved to the Spanish ProTeam Liberty Seguros-Würth . At the Giro d'Italia he was then banned from starting because of excessive hematocrit and was then thrown from the team by Manolo Saiz . Shortly afterwards, he was back with his old team. In September 2009 he was banned for two years by the World Cycling Federation UCI because of EPO doping .
He ended his career at the end of the 2014 season.
