The Nudelman-Richter NR-30 ( Russian: Нудельман-Рихтер НР – 30 ) is a Soviet / Russian on-board cannon in the 30 × 155 mm B caliber .

technology

The basis of the weapon was the previous version NR-23 , which was lengthened and modified so that it could fire more powerful ammunition in the 30 mm caliber. It worked as a recoil loader and had an effective range of 800 meters. A muzzle brake dampened both recoil and muzzle flash. When assembling near the wing roots, stainless steel sheets were attached to the fuselage to protect the fuselage from damage from the muzzle flash. The life of a barrel was about 3000 rounds, after which the barrel was replaced. From 1954, the NR-30 served as an on-board weapon for the following combat aircraft:
