Nugsar Bagration-Grusinski

Nugsar Bagration-Grusinski ( Georgian ნუგზარ ბაგრატიონ-გრუზინსკი; born August 25, 1950 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian theater director and director. According to the prevailing opinion, he has been the head of the former Georgian royal house of the Bagratids since 1984 .

Life

He was born the son of the poet Petre Bagration-Grusinski and his second wife Liya Mgeladze. Today he is director of the Tumanishvili Theater of Film Actors in Tbilisi.

As the oldest patrilineal descendant of Kartlien-Kakhetiens last king, Giorgi XII. , he has been head of the former Georgian royal family and a potential contender for a Georgian royal throne since 1984. The imeretic Bagratid line confirmed this claim in 2007.

He has been married to Leila Kipiani since February 10, 1971 and has two daughters: Anna (* 1976) and Maja (* 1978). The elder daughter Anna married her cousin, David Bagration-Muchrani (* 1976 in Madrid), her father's rival for the Georgian pretender to the throne. The marriage unites the Grusinski and Muchrani branches of the Georgian Bagratid dynasty.
