Nuno Gomes Garcia

Nuno Gomes Garcia (* 1978 in Matosinhos ) is a Portuguese writer, archaeologist and historian. He lives and works in Paris .

Life

Nuno Gomes Garcia studied archeology and history at the University of Porto and the University of Lisbon , with a focus on the Middle Ages , Renaissance and European colonial history .

After working as an archaeologist for twelve years, he devoted himself to literature. Since then he has been writing novels and short stories, but also advising publishers (including as a historian) and doing journalistic work on literature, among other things. a. he has a literary program on the radio.

In 2012 his first novel, O Soldado Sabino, was published . His second novel, O Dia em Que o Sol Se Apagou , made it to the finals for the Prémio LeYa in 2014 .

Garcia has lived in Paris for several years, where he is also active in the Portuguese community there. There he writes for the Portuguese-language newspaper Lusojornal , which appears in France and Belgium .

Nuno Garcia is married to a Lithuanian ; the couple has two children.
