Nuraghe Loelle

The Nuraghe Loelle is located on a granite -Hochebene in Buddusò in the province of Sassari in Sardinia . Nuraghi are prehistoric and early historical towers of the Bonnanaro culture (2200–1600 BC) and the subsequent nuraghi culture (around 1600–400 BC) in Sardinia, which is inextricably linked with it .

The Nuraghe Loelle is a mixed type, characterized by elements of the Corridor and Tholosnuraghe . A large settlement of round huts extended around the nuraghe . There are two giant tombs nearby . There are reports of the existence of a well sanctuary, but there are no traces of it.

The monument is built on different levels. The oval main tower stands on a ledge and has a diameter of 9.5 by 7.2 m. It is reached via a 0.8 m wide and 2.14 m high entrance in the southeast, behind which there is a 5.3 m long open anteroom 1.5 to 1.0 m wide. An entrance leads into the central chamber with two niches.

In the 1990s, Paola Basoli's nuraghe was excavated. Nearby is the rudimentary giant grave of Loelle.
