Nyanga (formerly Inyanga ) is a city in Manicaland Province in Zimbabwe . It is located in the mountainous east of the country. The Nyanga National Park and Inyangani , the highest mountain in the country, are located near the city . The city had an estimated 4,850 inhabitants in 2004. In 1982 there were 2,973 residents.

The city attracts many tourists with fishing spots, mountaineering opportunities, holiday resorts and golf courses. The highest waterfalls in Zimbabwe, the Mutarazi Falls on Pungwe , are also in the area, in which ruins and other traces of human settlement from the Stone and Iron Ages can be found, such as fortifications, terraces and paths. The area around Nyanga enjoys great natural beauty. Cecil Rhodes wrote to one of his agents in 1896:

“Dear McDonald, Inyanga is much nicer than you described. […] Before it all goes away, please buy me about 100,000 acres and don't forget the Pungwe Falls. I would try sheep farming and apple cultivation. "

Nyamhuka is a constantly growing, densely populated township and a large army base.
