OC (rapper)

Omar Credle (* 1972 in Brooklyn , New York ), known by his stage name OC , is an American rapper who works as a solo artist and as part of some well-known underground hip-hop groups.

Life

Credle was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the Bushwick neighborhood . In 1991 he made his first appearance on Fudge Pudge , a piece by Organized Confusion . In 1994 he got a contract with Wild Pitch Records and recorded the album Word ... Life , which contains his most famous song Time's Up . The album received critical acclaim and is considered a classic in hip-hop circles. At the same time he became a member of the hip-hop crew D.ITC , whose member Buckwild was involved in the production of the debut album.

In 1997 OC signed with Pay Day Records , where he completed his second album, Jewelz . This album, too, received critical acclaim.

OC finished his fourth album in 2005 on Grit Records . It is called Starchild . During the year OC changed labels again and signed with Hieroglyphics Imperium Recordings , where his fifth album Smoke and Mirrors was released.

OC can also be heard on the soundtrack for Clockers as part of the Crooklyn Dodgers , who consisted of rappers Chubb Rock and Jeru the Damaja , among others .
