The OFC Nations Cup 1980 ( Engl. : OFC Nations Cup ) was the second playout of an oceanic continental championship in football after seven-year break and found from 24 February to 3 March 1980. New Caledonia, a French overseas territory , instead. All games were played at the Stade Numa-Daly in Nouméa. Eight teams took part in the tournament. Like 1973 Fiji , New Caledonia , New Zealand , New Hebrides (now Vanuatu), Tahiti and for the first time Australia , Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands . The game was played in two groups of four teams. The two group winners qualified for the final, the two group runners-up for the game for third place.
