The Football Oceania Championship ( English OFC Nations Cup , German  actually OFC Nations Cup ), also just called Oceania Cup for short , is a continental tournament that has been held since 1973 for the national football teams to determine the Oceania champions in football. The competition is organized by the OFC Oceanic Football Confederation .

The tournament was held at varying intervals. It took place every two years between 1996 and 2004. The competition is currently played every four years and also serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Cup. The winner then plays off the World Cup participant in a play-off game against a team from another continent. The mode of play was also changed several times and switched between the tournament format with one or two group (s) in one country and the knockout or league system with home and away matches. Significant differences in quality between Australia and New Zealand on the one hand and the Pacific states on the other ensure that little attention is paid to the tournament in other parts of the world. Most of the best Australian players, most of whom are active in Europe, were not even nominated for the tournament because of their minor importance. In 2006 Australia switched to the Asian Association (AFC) and has not taken part in OFC competitions since.

The OFC Nations Cup winners qualify for the next FIFA Confederations Cup .
