OGLE-TR-211 is a main sequence star of the spectral class F7 to F8 in the constellation Carina, about 17,000 light years away from Earth . With an apparent brightness of 14.3 mag, it can no longer be seen with the naked eye even under optimal observation conditions. The star is orbited by an exoplanet called OGLE-TR-211 b .
Exoplanet
OGLE-TR-211 b is an exoplanet and orbits the central star with a period of 3.68 days and at a distance of approx. 0.051 astronomical units . It has a minimum mass of about 1.0 Jupiter and is a " Hot Jupiter ". The exoplanet was discovered in 2007 as part of the OGLE project, i.e. using the transit method .
