from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

OKB Gidropress ( Russian ОКБ Гидропресс ) is a state-owned Russian design office that operates in the field of nuclear technology . OKB stands for Experimental Design Office (опытно-конструкторское бюро). The design office was established on January 28, 1946 by decree of the Council of People's Commissars and is located in Podolsk . It is the developer of the VVER type nuclear reactors .

history

The design office has been dealing with nuclear technology since it was founded in 1946. It was headed from 1946 to 1954 by Boris Michailowitsch Schlokowitsch, after which Alexei Timofejewitsch Agapow took over the management until 1958. His successor was Josef Efremowitsch Braude and Vasili Stekolnikow ran the office from 1962 until 1992. After 1992 Valentin Grigoryevich Fyodorov took over the management, since 1998 Yuri Grigoryevich Dragunov has led the company.

The company is mainly for its reactor type VVER known. The VVER-1200 (AES-2006) and VVER-1500 are the newest reactors in Gidropress' VVER line. They are a further development of older reactor series. The SVBR-75/100 is to be Gidropress' first breeder reactor. It is a reactor cooled with liquid lead.

Some pilot systems and prototypes were also supplied by Gidropress. Among other things, Gidropress designed the steam separators for the Obninsk nuclear power plant and for the Ignalina nuclear power plant . In addition, steam separators were designed for the breeder reactors in the Aqtau nuclear power plant and the Belojarsk nuclear power plant . The VK-50 and BOR-60 at the Research Institute of Atomic Reactors were developed by Gidropress.

Investments

The following systems, among others, were built according to Gidropress's design:

  • heavy research reactor at the Institute for Theoretical and Experimental Physics in Moscow
  • MR research reactor at the Institute for Atomic Energy in Moscow
  • Steam generator and heat exchanger for the first Obninsk nuclear power plant
  • Steam generator for industrial reactors (Bishkek, Krasnoyarsk and Tomsk)
  • fast neutron reactor BOR-60, designed for experimental research into fuel rods
  • Steam generator and heat exchanger for the BN-350 reactor
  • Steam generator and heat exchanger for the BN-600 reactor of the Belojarsk nuclear power plant
  • Reactor types VVER-210 (V-1), VVER-365 (V-3), VVER-440 (V-179, B-230, B-213, V-270), VVER-1000 (V-187, B- 302, B-320, B-338, V-428)
