Operational Mentoring and Liaison Team
Operational Mentoring and Liaison Teams (OMLT) is the NATO equivalent of the US Embedded Training Teams (ETT) and operates in Afghanistan . The soldiers are deployed as trainers and military advisers to the Afghan Armed Forces (ANA), and accompany and advise the Afghan soldiers on their operations against insurgents. In addition to accompanying and advising, another task is to coordinate the planning of operations between ANA and ISAF forces. For joint operations, support ranges from medical evacuation to air strikes.

The Afghan National Army Training Command (ANATC) has existed since July 2006 and works closely with ISAF and the ANA General Staff .
The main objective of the training is that the ANA can independently ensure the security of the country in the future. The Bundeswehr is currently using Operational Mentoring and Liaison Teams (OMLT) in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e Sharif . Before 2013, the Bundeswehr still had OMLT teams in Kunduz and Faizabad .
