O místo na slunci (Eng: A place in the sun ) is a Czechoslovak animated short film by František Vystrčil from 1960.
action
Two men argue over a small sunny spot on a beach by the sea. Their quarrels and arguments mean that the sunny spot disappears and both men are left in the dark. You are sad about it. When the sun reappears, both friends have come to terms and enjoy the sunny spot, which is big enough for both, together.

O místo na slunci was created in Cel animation in 1959 . Vystrčil animated the film with a few colors in the greatest possible abstraction, whereby the figures are similar to stick figures. The film is now considered a classic of animated films and its style had a great influence on animated filmmakers of the early 1960s.
Awards
O místo na slunci was nominated for an Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film " in 1961 , but could not prevail against Munro . At the Festival d'Animation Annecy , the film was awarded the “Prix pour son thème humain et sa recherche graphique”.
