Oberamt (Baden)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Oberamt in the margraviate of Baden was created under Karl Friedrich after the merger of the margravates of Baden-Baden and Baden-Durlach from 1771 in all parts of the country and was replaced by the uniform designation district office in the first half of the 19th century .

The relationship between senior office and office cannot be defined uniformly, because there was not always a higher or lower order. In the 18th century the country had not yet been given completely similar administrative districts, because when ever new areas grew together to form one territory, many old customs had to be taken into account.
