Artur Ajwasjan
Artur Surenowytsch Ajwasjan ( Ukrainian Артур Суренович Айвазян , English transcription Artur Ayvazyan ; born January 14, 1973 in Yerevan ) is a Ukrainian sports shooter of Armenian origin. He is known both as an air rifle and small bore rifle shooter.
Artur Ajwasjan has so far participated in three Olympic Games. In 2000 in Sydney , as in 2004 in Athens and 2008 in Beijing , he competed with the air rifle over 10 meters as well as with the small bore rifle prone and in the three-position fight over 50 meters each. The Ukrainian finished the air rifle competitions in 2000 in eighth place, in 2004 as 22nd and in 2008 as 21st. With a small-bore rifle in the three-position competition, he came in fifth, seventh and 19th. In the small-bore prone competition, Aywasian was 30th in 2000, ninth in 2004 and won in 2008 gold medal in Beijing ahead of Matthew Emmons with 702.7 rings.
Ajwasjan lives in Lviv and starts for SHVSM Lviv.
