Miroslav Varga (born September 21, 1960 in Žatec , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech sports shooter .
successes
Miroslav Varga took part in three Olympic Games . At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul , he qualified in the prone position with the small bore rifle with a world record of 600 points for the final, in which he scored 103.9 points. With a total of 703.9 points, he took first place and thus became Olympic champion . In the same competition in 1992 in Barcelona he did not get past 31st place. His third Olympic participation took place in Beijing in 2008 , now for the Czech Republic. With 590 points he reached the 29th place. As early as 1990 he was runner-up in three team competitions with the small bore rifle at the World Championships in Moscow : in three-position combat, in prone position and in standing position.
