Willy Røgeberg

Willy Mads Henry Røgeberg (born December 11, 1905 in Oslo , † December 15, 1969 there ) was a Norwegian sports shooter .

Willy Røgeberg won at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin to compete with the small-bore rifle prone, in 1936 the only discipline for gunners. He achieved the maximum number of points of 300 rings and was the first shooter to achieve this maximum number of points at an international championship. There have not yet been any official world records. He won the Morgenbladet gold medal for this in his home country .

Twelve years later, the 1948 Olympic Games took place in London , the first after World War II. Røgeberg took part in the three-position fight with the free rifle. With 1112 rings he won the bronze medal behind the Swiss Emil Grünig and the Finn Pauli Janhonen .

Willy Røgeberg also won medals at world championships. The greatest success was the world championship title in 1947 over 50 meters. Standing at 300 meters, Røgeberg won bronze in 1935 and 1949. In 1935 he had also won bronze on his knees at 50 meters and standing at 50 meters.
