The Oberberg Foundation Matthias Gottschaldt is a non-profit foundation based in Berlin, which was founded in 1998.

history

The foundation was established in 1998 by Edda Gottschaldt after the death of Matthias Gottschaldt (1939–1998) under the name “Prof. Dr. Matthias Gottschaldt Foundation ”. From 2004 it was called the “German Addiction Foundation Matthias Gottschaldt” until it was renamed “Oberberg Foundation Matthias Gottschaldt” in July 2009 in the course of further development of the content.

The purposes of the Oberberg Foundation Matthias Gottschaldt are non-profit and are operationally and promotionally implemented. The foundation supports:

  • Scientific research projects on "the development, course, prevention , therapy and rehabilitation of addiction disorders , their psychosomatic comorbidities and their causes"
  • the dissemination of information about the research results to political and other decision-makers in society and to the public
  • the implementation of the knowledge gained through practical projects

In 2009, the focus of funding activities was expanded to include integral healing art.

Board of Directors and Board of Trustees

The highest management body is the foundation council , which in turn is chaired by Edda Gottschaldt, chairwoman. Deputy Chairman is Götz Mundle. Further members are Astrid Bühren, Tobias Esch and Paul Kohtes. Wilhelm Feuerlein and Hanfried Helmchen are on the honorary committee . The Board of Trustees does not meet in public.

activities

The foundation's activities include expert panels and symposia on topics such as medical health, nutrition and salutogenesis . Every two years, the foundation and the Identity Foundation organize the interdisciplinary conference on meditation and science in Berlin. Which is also every two years, Wilhelm Feuerlein Research Award awarded to the scientific papers on addictions , depression , anxiety - and personality disorders are excellent.
