history

Oberbronnen is mentioned as part of Wilburgstetten Castle as early as 1431 . Over the centuries, Oberbronnen was in mixed ownership of the noble family Oettingen-Spielberg , the towns of Dinkelsbühl, Willburgstetten, the Augsburg Cathedral Monastery and the Ellwangen Monastery . Although Oberbronnen belongs politically to the municipality of Stödtlen, the Catholic residents belong to the parish of Tannhausen, which formerly also administered Oberbronnen politically.

Infrastructure and traffic

Connected by a municipal road, Oberbronnen lies between the towns of Unterbronnen and Eck am Berg.

The townscape is shaped by the Roman Catholic chapel built in 1792, which is subordinate to the patronage of the venerated saint Wolfgang von Regensburg . In the chapel there are only two services a year, on October 31, the day of the patron's death, and on Thanksgiving .

A primary school is located in the main town in Stödtlen. Secondary schools are located in Unterschneidheim and Ellwangen , among others .
